Not only will it take place in Carballo, but in the coming months it will also be held in Rianxo, Bueu, Vilagarcía and Ferrol. In addition, last year it was launched in Rianxo, Ames, A Pobra, Mondoñedo, Ribeira and Verín. The organizer, Sandra González, explained that with this project they understand the city as a game board, as a meeting place and as a learning laboratory for children that through children’s own tools, such as their own movement and play, they have to discover, live, know and value their habitat in order to act in it.”

This is the objective that the City Council of Bueu has set itself with a series of workshops entitled A vila do mañá, an initiative with which it aims to bring children and youth closer to a subject that, at first, could be distant from them. The project is promoted by the Association for the Defense of the Galician Cultural Heritage and is based on the ideas of the Italian psychopedagogue Francesco Tonucci. The thinker and artist relates childhood to urban planning and the heritage of localities to reinforce the feeling of belonging to a place, as well as to create an identity.”

The didactic project The town of tomorrow has returned to Rianxo. The objective, on this occasion, was for the little ones to collaborate in the design of what will be the new urban park of the village, located in the surroundings of the old houses of the teachers. “We wanted to know how the boys would build this space, since they are precisely the ones who will live in it”, explained the creator of the initiative, Sandra González.

Paper and pencil in hand, more than a hundred children not only drew the park of their dreams, but built a real playground with simple elements, such as colored strings, balloons or elastic bands.”
