“The Ministry of Environment, Territory and Housing will study the possibility of collaborating in a new educational project driven from the field of architecture and aimed at Galician children and adolescents.

This is what councilor Ángeles Vázquez and architect Sandra González Álvarez, promoter of the educational and informative initiative A vila do moraan, which has been carried out so far in around 15 Galician municipalities and whose objective is that, from childhood and through play, awareness is created on all scales of common space: architecture, heritage, urbanism and landscape.

In the same way, as he explained to the councillor, it is also sought to bring the architectural discipline to the world of two children so that there is an exchange of knowledge and the professionals can approach the vision of the towns and cities that the new generations have.

To this end, A vila do moraan proposes to carry out a whole series of workshops given by students from the Escola Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, adapted in each case to the age of the two participants and us that the street becomes an authentic operational space, making available to children and teenagers all the necessary tools to develop their creativity from art and architecture.

In this sense, Ángeles Vázquez celebrated that initiatives like this put the focus on urbanism, the landscape and the relationship we have with our environment from a very early age, seeking active involvement by the new generations in the construction processes of neighborhoods, cities and squares and the improvement of abandoned or deteriorated environments due to the impact of so-called urban feism.

For his part, González stressed the importance of contact between different generations to guarantee a two-way learning, because the participating children “discover what is behind two walls” of buildings around them, such as, for example, Casa do Concello.

It should be remembered that the Consellería has also collaborated since 2000 with the Official College of Architects called Project Terra, a program of pedagogical activities that takes place in educational centers throughout Galicia with the aim of educating and generating a critical spirit among Primary and Secondary students in relation to architecture and landscape.”

“The Department of Environment, Territory and Housing of the Xunta de Galicia will study the possibility of collaborating in a new educational project driven from the field of architecture and aimed at Galician children and teenagers.

This was agreed upon by councilor Ángeles Vázquez and architect Sandra González Álvarez, promoter of the educational and informative initiative La villa del mañana, which has been carried out so far in around 15 Galician town halls and whose objective is that, from childhood and through play, awareness is created about all the scales of the common space: architecture, heritage, urban planning and the landscape.

In the same way, as he explained to the councillor, it is also sought to bring architectural discipline to the world of children so that there is an exchange of knowledge and professionals can approach the vision of the towns and cities that have the new generations

For this, La villa del mañana proposes the realization of a whole series of workshops given by students of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, adapted in each case to the age of the participants and in which the street becomes a real operational space , making available to children and adolescents all the necessary tools to develop their creativity in art and architecture.

In this sense, Ángeles Vázquez celebrated that initiatives like this put the focus on urbanism, the landscape and the relationship we maintain with our environment from a very early age, seeking an active involvement on the part of the new generations in the construction processes of the neighborhoods, cities and squares and in the improvement of abandoned or deteriorated environments due to the impact of the so-called urban feism.

For his part, González stressed the importance of contact between different generations to guarantee two-way learning, since the participating children “discover what is behind the walls” of buildings in their surroundings such as, for example, the Town Hall.

It should be remembered that the Consellería has also been collaborating since 2000 with the Official College of Architects in the so-called Project Terra, a program of educational activities that takes place in educational centers throughout Galicia with the objective of educating and generating a critical spirit among students of Primary and Secondary in relation to architecture and landscape.”

“The Xunta will study collaborating with the project ‘A vila do moraan’, an educational initiative promoted from the field of architecture and aimed at Galician children and adolescents.

This is what the Ministry of Environment, Territory and Housing has moved, after the meeting held this Tuesday between Minister Ángeles Vázquez and the architect and promoter of this project, Sandra González Álvarez.

This informative initiative has already been put into practice in some 15 municipalities in Galicia and its objective is to make the youngest, through play, aware of scales in common spaces: architecture, heritage, urbanism and the landscape

‘Tomorrow’s village’ is developed through workshops taught by students from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, adapted to the children’s ages, and in which the street becomes an operational space. In this way, young people are given the necessary tools to develop their creativity in art and architecture.

Councilor Ángeles Vázquez has celebrated these initiatives, which focus on urban planning and the landscape, and on people’s relationship with their environment from a very early age. Thus, the new generations, he highlighted, can participate in the construction processes of neighborhoods, cities and squares, and in the improvement of abandoned or deteriorated environments due to the impact of ‘urbanism’.

In addition to studying the collaboration with this project, the Consellería has recalled that, since 2000, it has collaborated with the Official College of Architects in the so-called ‘Project Tierra’, a program of educational activities that is developed in educational centers in Galicia to educate and generate critical spirit in relation to architecture and landscape.”

“Silleda will bring its heritage and landscape closer to children with games”

“Silleda will bring its heritage and landscape closer to children with games”

La Voz de Galicia

“”A Vila do Mañá” will include workshops for six days

Silleda wants to bring the identity of towns and cities closer through game dynamics for children, in an informative and educational initiative that seeks to raise awareness about architecture, heritage, urbanism and the everyday landscape. The program, named A Vila do Mañá, will take place over a week and is aimed at children between the ages of 5 and 14. It will take place from June 28 to July 3.

This type of informative project, which is equally committed to entertainment and education, was developed in previous years in other Galician towns and also reached cities such as San Paulo in Brazil. The activities will take place through the streets of Silleda, in the morning and afternoon, coordinated by monitors. They will be free for those registered in the municipality, with 40 offers. Starting next week, interested parties will be able to register at the town hall. The program will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., except for the last day on Saturday, which will only be in the morning hours.

A Vila do Mañá is jointly organized by the Departments of Culture, Education and Urban Planning. As a background, it appears to bring the little ones closer to how the identity of the localities can be recovered and that they be a place of meeting and exchange. The educational project was designed by the POSTarqueitectos studio. It is sought that children and adolescents are actively present in the process of building common spaces, providing them with tools to develop their creativity through art and architecture.

The promoter of the initiative, Sandra González, highlighted yesterday during her presentation, accompanied by the councilor for Education, Ángela Troitiño, and Urban Planning, Pili Peón, that “the end is to provoke nefariousness and to awaken a new look at the spaces in which they develop to his life». During those six days, Silleda will become a large game board and experimentation laboratory, transforming the streets into something new to discover if you look at and walk with different eyes. It is made with characteristic elements of the municipality of Trasdeza, as a game of the goose.

The architect Sandra González also stressed that “it is important that from small we know the value of our territory to be aware and know food or tomorrow.” The workshops will be structured through the concepts of perception, space, landscape, scale, sustainability and village, together with tools such as the point, the line, the plane and the three-dimensional.

In short, it seeks to conceive the town as a play space, recovering ideas proposed by the Dutchman Aldo Van Eyck and prizes from Francesco Tonucci, creator of the A cidade dos nenos program, giving prominence to this age group to promote the recovery of the territory for citizens . The program has already been developed successfully in recent years in different parts of Galicia, from Vilagarcía to Carballo, Arzúa or Ames, as well as Arteixo, Rianxo, Malpica, Cambados or Santiago, among others.

“Silleda will be for the children”

Faro de Vigo

¨‘A Vila do Mañá’ will turn the streets into a game board from June 28 to July 3 | It is free and is aimed at children from 5 to 14 years old.

How can we recover the identity of our towns and cities? How could they once again be a place of meeting and sharing? Some of these issues led the PØSTarquitectos studio to create the A Vila do Mañá project, so that, through the dynamics of play, children become aware of architecture, tangible and intangible heritage, urban planning and landscape. This recreational educational initiative, which has already been developed in recent years in different Galician towns and in Sao Paulo (Brazil), will arrive in Silleda from June 28 to July 3.

A Vila do Mañá will offer free workshops coordinated by monitors in the morning (9:00-14:00) and afternoon (17:00-20:00) in the streets of Silleda; Saturday, the last day, only in the morning session. It is open to children from the municipality between the ages of 5 and 14, with prior registration, which can be formalized starting next week. In principle, 40 places are offered.

The main challenge is that childhood and adolescence are actively present in the process of building common spaces, providing them with the necessary tools to develop their creativity through art and architecture. “The goal is to provoke them and awaken a new perspective on the spaces in which they develop their lives,” explains the architect Sandra González Álvarez, promoter of the initiative, who participated in its presentation together with the Councilors for Education, Ángela Troitiño, and Urban Planning, Pilar Peón, organizing departments together with Culture, directed by Mónica González Conde.

Silleda, a vila do mañá will take the town as a game board and a laboratory for experimentation, transforming it into “something new to discover if you look at it and explore it with different eyes”. The board will be made with characteristic elements of the municipality, conceived as an original and unprecedented game of the goose. “It is important that from a young age we know the value of our territory to be aware and know how to take care of it tomorrow,” explains Sandra González. The activities will be structured around six fundamental concepts: perception, space, landscape, scale, sustainability and the villa, with tools such as the point, the line, the plane and the three-dimensional element.

He conceives the villa as a play space, recovering ideas proposed by the Dutchman Aldo van Eyck and the premises of the Italian Francesco Tonucci –creator of La ciudad de los niños– with the aim that children act as the vanguard of the recovery of the territory for the citizenry. . Vilagarcía, Carballo, Arzúa, Ames, Rianxo, Cambados, Arteixo, Malpica or Santiago are some of the towns that guarantee its success.
