La Voz de Galicia 05/07/2019 “In the town of tomorrow, there are women. This is the title of the conference that will take place between Thursday and Sunday next week in Rianxo. They will have the participation of a dozen architects, who will offer their vision on what the urbanism of the future must be like. As a complement, a workshop open to the public will be held in order to turn into an appropriate public space a corner near the Campo de Arriba in which an illegally built building was demolished.”

The urban didactic project “A vila do Mañá”, created and directed by the architect Sandra González in 2016, will celebrate a new edition next week under the title “There are women in Vila do Mañá”.
El Correo Gallego 10/03/2019 “It is an innovative initiative, led by the architect Sandra González, where cities and towns become game boards and experimentation laboratories for young people to contribute their gaze on the spaces in which they live. Through a series of games in urban spaces, the aim is to find out how kids see the places where they live and, above all, how they want them to be in the future.“

The didactic project The town of tomorrow has returned to Rianxo. The objective, on this occasion, was for the little ones to collaborate in the design of what will be the new urban park of the village, located in the surroundings of the old houses of the teachers. “We wanted to know how the boys would build this space, since they are precisely the ones who will live in it”, explained the creator of the initiative, Sandra González.
Paper and pencil in hand, more than a hundred children not only drew the park of their dreams, but built a real playground with simple elements, such as colored strings, balloons or elastic bands.”

The countdown to find out if the rianxeiro executive will have a specific subsidy from the Xunta for the rehabilitation of the old teachers’ homes is already underway. The City Council has already presented its exhaustive project to materialize what will be the first properties of the future bag for social emergency rentals of the municipality. And, in keeping with the human objective pursued, this plan provides for the creation of a leisure area decorated from recycled materials, in this case with nets and other marine tools.
The architect Carlos Coto spoke about the proposal during the Voice Forum on recycling held in Muros, and gave it as an example of sustainable urbanism. Likewise, he spoke about citizen involvement in its development.
This participatory nature will be produced by seeking collaboration from neighbors linked to the maritime sector and similar associations, which will be integrated into the preparation of the final design.

“The Village of Maña is the graphic name of the urban planning and heritage workshops that are being held in Rianxo aimed at the boys and girls of the village. The aim is that this Christmas these little architects become aware of their municipality and bring them closer to urban planning in a way playful.”
Lo Que Yo Te Digo 26/12/2016 “In Rianxo, the Urban Planning and Heritage workshop for children and youth “A vila do mañá” also began, in morning and afternoon sessions, directed by Sandra Álvarez, so that they can understand the spaces of the town. With the municipal auditorium as the center of operations, games and activities are carried out -they paint buildings, places, do puzzles with pieces of the town, build with blocks,…- in order to get to know the spaces that are similar to reality, in order for them to learn to feel them as their own, to live and understand them, to begin to appreciate and care for them.”

This workshop aims to bring the younger people closer to the fields of architecture and heritage to reflect on urban planning and how the Rianxo of the future should be.
