The wonderful adventure of discovering what surrounds you.
How can we recover the identity of our peoples? How could they become a meeting and exchange place again? Some of these issues led the PØSTarquitectos studio to create the A vila do mañá project, an educational and informative initiative so that, through play, children become aware of all scales of the common: architecture, tangible heritage and intangible, urbanism and landscape.

Faro de Vigo 23/09/2019 “The Vilagarcía de Arousa Council has developed a complete program of activities on the occasion of the European Mobility Week, under the motto “connosco camiña“, with which it is opting for the “mobilityweek“ award from the European Union. Numerous activities were carried out throughout the week that culminated yesterday with the closure of the city centre to declare the day without cars and the occupation of Conde Vallellano street with a children’s games workshop called “a vila do mañá“.“
Faro de Vigo 21/09/2019 “The program of the European Mobility Week includes a rehearsal for the pedestrianization of Conde Vallellano street throughout the afternoon today, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the launch of the workshop “A vila do mañá“, an educational project and of dissemination whose objective is to promote, through game and childhood, the awareness of all common scales. The activity that will turn Vilagarcía into a game board and experimentation laboratory is in charge of POSTarquitectos. At night, from 9:00 p.m., the cycling march will start from the Plaza de la Independencia.”
Faro de Vigo 07/03/2019 “Vilagarcía has a new bibliographic reference for the youngest people thanks to the presentation of the book that collects the activities carried out in “A vila do mañá“ program developed in the town. The Councilor for Mobility, Paola María, highlighted in the presentation that “it is an idea very much in line with our city model because the concept of the city is not achieved only with works, but with awareness, especially of the children who will be the future mayors of these cities. In Europe, it is conveyed to us that the well-being of cities is measured in public spaces for people. We believe that the most important thing is to live in cities and enhance the interaction of the children with cities“.“
Faro de Vigo 28/11/2018 “About 340 students from San Francisco School carried out various activities in the Plaza de la Independencia, which, for a few months, has already closed to traffic the street that is intended to be added to the recreation area. Hand in hand with the program developed by the architect Sandra González Álvarez, the children worked in this space with the line, the plane and the three-dimensional element, imagining what the city of tomorrow would be like, in which they raised many gardens and a “Vilaking“.”
Faro de Vigo 20/11/2018 “Students from San Francisco School took the Praza da Independencia yesterday morning within “A vila do mañá“ program, an initiative of the councils of Urbanism and Education of the Vilagarcía City Council to claim the streets as places of meeting, coexistence and recreation. Thus, children go back to playing in the street, as was usual until not so many years ago.”
Faro de Vigo 22/08/2018 “The aim of the project is to redefine society’s relationship with urban public spaces, which are often closed and even dangerous for pedestrians. The initiative has international awards, and in Galicia it is sponsored by the Association for the Defense of Cultural Heritage of Galicia, whose vice president Javier Montero, Cambados‘ native. “These activities interest us a lot because one of our open fronts is education about the territory, architecture, landscape and heritage“.”
