Yesterday, December 15, the ceremony of the 24th IABsp 2022 Awards – traditional and recognized award in the area of architecture and urbanism – took place, when the winners were announced. The event gathered participants and guests from the area at a cocktail party at Unibes Cultural, in São Paulo.
Organized by the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB) – an entity with over one hundred years of existence – the award had 25 projects from 8 Brazilian cities (Careiro da Várzea, Iguape, Iranduba, Jundiaí, Santo André, Recife, São José dos Campos, and São Paulo) awarded.
The winners of the four categories, divided into 12 subcategories won, besides the trophy, the recognition and credibility that the award carries. “This is the longest-running award in the profession and has shown, in recent editions, that it has been able to keep up with the most important agendas of its time,” says Jaime Solares, coordinator of this edition.

Vimianzo will once again promote its Concilia no Nadal program, within the framework of “A Vila do Mañá” and designed for children from 5 to 14 years old. Totally free, it is a playful and educational proposal to be developed from December 26 to 30, with a total of 40 places enabled and registration open until the 16th, at the Casa da Cultura. “Have as an objective to validate and recover the identities of poor and cities,” they advanced from the consistory.
The Council of Vimianzo launches its program “Concilia no Nadal”, again in the framework of “A vila do mañá”, aimed at children from five to fourteen years. It is a totally free recreational-educational program that will take place from December 26 to 30.
The activity will have a total of 40 places and registrations can be made at the Casa da Cultura until December 16, from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 hours. It aims to assess and recover the identity of their villages and towns.
In recent years, this initiative has been developed in different Galician towns, even reaching Sao Paulo, Brazil. The main challenge of this project is that children and adolescents are actively involved in the process of building common spaces, providing them with the necessary tools to develop their creativity through art and architecture.
Thus, children can enjoy free activities related to art and architecture in the streets and public spaces of Vimianzo through six concepts: perception, space, landscape, scale, sustainability, the village, and with tools such as the point, the line, the plane and the natural and three-dimensional element.
From the local government hope that children join a proposal “dynamic, special and very important for all residents, since here can leave the basis of many future projects that would only bring benefits to the municipality”.
