The didactic project The town of tomorrow has returned to Rianxo. The objective, on this occasion, was for the little ones to collaborate in the design of what will be the new urban park of the village, located in the surroundings of the old houses of the teachers. “We wanted to know how the boys would build this space, since they are precisely the ones who will live in it”, explained the creator of the initiative, Sandra González.
Paper and pencil in hand, more than a hundred children not only drew the park of their dreams, but built a real playground with simple elements, such as colored strings, balloons or elastic bands.”

The countdown to find out if the rianxeiro executive will have a specific subsidy from the Xunta for the rehabilitation of the old teachers’ homes is already underway. The City Council has already presented its exhaustive project to materialize what will be the first properties of the future bag for social emergency rentals of the municipality. And, in keeping with the human objective pursued, this plan provides for the creation of a leisure area decorated from recycled materials, in this case with nets and other marine tools.
The architect Carlos Coto spoke about the proposal during the Voice Forum on recycling held in Muros, and gave it as an example of sustainable urbanism. Likewise, he spoke about citizen involvement in its development.
This participatory nature will be produced by seeking collaboration from neighbors linked to the maritime sector and similar associations, which will be integrated into the preparation of the final design.

Invading the O Sol square. This is how the day began yesterday for the children participating in the A Cidade do Mañá urban planning workshop. The rain caused a change of plans, so instead of taking over the O Sol square, they had to occupy the CEIP O Grupo pavilion track. Until Friday, the little ones will be made in situ with the Ribeirense streets.
While time allowed, they were delimiting the space of the small square, with the help of some tapes. “They placed them to their liking, they had the feeling that the place was theirs,” explains Sandra González, creator of the project. And that is one of the objectives of the course: that the youngest recover their space on the street
